There is no single best time for every borrower; the useful question is whether the potential saving, costs and rate terms make switching worthwhile for your situation.

Useful moments to review
Fixed period endingReview the next available rates before your current fixed period ends.
Large rate differenceA meaningful reduction in the rate can justify checking the numbers.
Property value changedA lower LTV can affect the products available to you.
Financial circumstances changedIncome, debts or household costs may change what is affordable.
Compare the whole deal
Look at the rate, term, LTV band, fixed period, fees, breakage costs and incentives. A headline rate alone does not tell you the total saving.
